Where can I find clothing for large dogs?

I have a 200 lb. English Mastiff and my mom and I have looked everywhere online and in stores for clothes to fit him. We have not found anything except one place online where the prices are outrageous!

  1. Why do you want to dress up such a big dog?!?!?! You are going to give him a complex. Clothes are for people, not dogs with built in coats!

  2. again, why? the only clothing I have for my dobes are winter coats, which I buy at a horse supply store.

  3. Have you thought about getting clothes made for kids from thrift stores, or learning how to sew your own?

  4. Why do you want to put clothes on your dog. I mean in the winter time I can see putting a sweater on them if they are short hair but that is it. If I put clothes on my dogs they would never talk to me again. lol

  5. If you can knit or know somebody who can, this is a great site for patterns: http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/directory/pets.php

It might also be worth looking at the forums of the Mastiff Club and asking your question there to see if anybody can recommend you a good site for out-size coats: http://www.mastiffclub.com/

  6. Have you tried ebay?
I have gotten some cute clothes for my dogs there.
Never mind the busy boddies who tell you not to dress your dog up – if your dog doesn’t mind and you enjoy it, not a reason in the world not to have fun dressing up your pooch.

  7. the reason you can’t find them is because they shouldn’t be dressed! They have fur for that reason.

Plus, it looks incredibly stupid on any sized dog, but the bigger they are, the worse it is. He/she’d probably just hate it, be incredibly uncomfortable, and chew it off anyway, so why waste you $$??

  8. Dude! Good luck I have the same ishue with my mastiff.
I asked the same question not so long ago and no one had a good awnser…I yhink you’ll just have to learn to sew. What I did was I bought a dog sweater in the XL. I cut it up and measured my dog,. I used it a sort of a guide…Good luck./
And for all those people who say “why dress up a masstiff?”
    Cause they like it!

I’m sure that dog clothes shops have mastiff-sized clothes.

  10. I’m wondering the same. We have a doberman and in the winter he gets cold when we go outside to play. I don’t need cutesy shirts or dresses or whatever, i need a dog COAT that will actually keep him warm. I agree that sometimes they look stupid but for us it’s more of a utilitarian concern than it is aesthetic.

  11. If you are looking for something to keep him warm, you can always try looking into mini horse blankets.
